Farah Hajian is a self-taught painter, art instructor and university lecturer born in Arak, Iran. Farah was an excellent student and obtained two diplomas of Mathematics, Physics, and Biology. Though she entered the University with an outstanding score, she was not allowed to continue her study by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the next 8 years.
At the age of 18, Farah began her artistic journey by painting and teaching it to children and teenagers.
During this time Farah met her life-long partner, the artist, Alireza Hezaveh. They got married in 1988. They are grateful and proud parents of their only son, Mahdi who was born in 1992. He is an accomplished software engineer currently working in Germany.
In 1989, a year after marriage, Farah was able to go to college again, she started her paramedical degree while continuing teaching and working on her art, but in 1992 she decided to leave the university to focus on her passion for painting and teaching art.
Farah has obtained her certification of Art Instruction (1995), followed by a certification of Calligraphy (1997).
In 1997, Hajian & Hezaveh opened their very first Painting School which later turned into Rangmayeh Art Institute (2002) which is a licensed institute that also offers recognized Diplomas in Painting, Computer Graphic, Portrait Painting, Interior Decoration, Persian Miniature, Packaging Design as well as instrument and music courses.
In 2005, Farah was awarded an honorary degree from the University of Applied Science and Technology Arak. She has also been invited and delivered lectures at the university.
